Dear Friends of Clear Lake Township, Through the generosity of many local residents we have matched our goal from the Steuben County Community Foundation. Special thanks goes to the First National Bank of Fremont for its generous contribution and to John Schenkel for legal assistance.Together we raised funds to purchase five acres of the land south of the Clear Lake Lutheran Church. This consists of the southern half of Koeneman Lake and the stream that flows into Clear Lake (marked as Tract 1 on the drawing) . We are now excited to be starting the process of acquiring the northern half of Koeneman Lake (marked as Tract 2 on the drawing). This will cost $24,000 and will give us more control in maintaining water quality and preventing future development. This is a very pristine site and the Clear Lake Township Land Conservancy, Inc. would be pleased to walk the land and lake with you.
