Clear Lake Water Ski Club
Clear Lake Ski Club (CLSC) and Ski
School Capital Campaign
Celebrating over sixty years of tradition, the CLSC
continues to thrive with over sixty youth members annually. Our youth experience
summers building and performing the annual ski show, hosting community events,
and participating in teambuilding and social activities.
The CLSC fosters the
development of lifelong friendships and the appreciation of continuing the
special legacy of the Clear Lake Community. Additionally, our Ski School
provides a unique opportunity for Clear Lake youth to develop and experience
water sports disciplines not available otherwise. The Ski School will continue
to teach our members show skiing, pyramid building, ballets, crosses, jumping,
barefooting, riding a disc, air chair, and more.
The Ski School accepts
financial donations to upgrade and maintain its equipment. If you would like
more information on how to contribute please contact one of the advisors listed
below.
2025 Ski Club Information
The Clear Lake Ski
Club had a great 65th Anniversary Show last year. Now it is time to look
forward to 2025. If Ski Club is something your kids might be interested in
but haven't joined yet, come check us out next summer!
Our first
meeting will be Memorial Day weekend. If you can't make it then, come to any
meeting to learn more or get in touch with Trey McArdle, Amy Culler or
either of the Co-Presidents. There are two mandatory meeting dates you need
to attend if you want to perform in the show: Ski Show run through on July
19th and The Clear Lake Ski Show on July 26th.
The Ski Club is a great place
to meet the other kids on the lake. Yes, we encourage the kids to come to
all the Ski Club meetings (and do so with Tom's Doughnuts) but all meetings
aren't mandatory. The basic format early on is to find an act(s) your child
would like to do in the show, find time to practice with the other members
of the act, and then perform that act in both the run through and the actual
show.
The Ski Club is more than a show Ski Club. It has a social
aspect as well. It is where you meet other kids on Clear Lake. Sometimes the
magic of the club is what happens after the meetings. My kids are often
requesting other kids come over to our house or come skiing with us after
the Ski Club meeting. Kids and parents alike form friendships. Meetings are
typically 10 AM on Saturdays during the last week or two of June and every
Saturday in July leading up to the Ski Show.
Depending on the year,
we arrange different social events, including a movie night and the
legendary scavenger hunt. We hope you will join us in 2025 to learn new
skills on the water and meet new families.
Ski Club is for kids
just beginning to do water sports thru high school.
If you know of a family
that would like to get involved, please contact Brett Buehrer, CLSC
Coordinator, at
bbuehrer@oconnorcp.com for more information on how to join the Club.
We hope to see you in 2025!
